Bio: Imad has structured $900M of investments into award-winning African PPPs, including into energy, backed by multiple DFIs. He contributed to Rwanda’s law governing PPPs. In Ghana, he helped embed climate considerations for public investments and usher in a green taxonomy. He supported Kenya’s Presidency in delivering ACS 2023, the Nairobi Declaration, Global Climate Finance Framework at COP28 and Africa’s strategy viz. the COP29 NCQG text. He has published a book on building a financially sustainable, equitable and climate resilient energy system in Zambia with Springer, as well as journal articles on accelerating adoption of improved cookstoves in India, and designing gender-sensitive recovery in Indonesia.
